Transdisiplinarity

I was given the opportunity to participate in a summer school on Svalbard, Norway that reshaped how I viewed climate research and my role therein. Climate science is truly interdisciplinary in nature, though members of each discipline rarely communicate with one another. This lack of communication doesn’t stop the climate from depending on the oceans or the oceans from depending on the cryosphere and so on. None of these things are happening in a vacuum without humans. Thus it is vital to connect with researchers of all disciplines to properly project future climate changes, especially those in the Arctic.
