Natural History Building

The complete renovation of Natural History Building on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is now complete! During the past three years, the building was completely gutted and rebuilt inside, at a cost of $72M. We’ll be fully operational in the building when the Fall 2017 term begins. NHB will be the home for the School of Earth, Society, and Environment (SESE), and its three departments (the Department of Geology; the Department of Geography and GIS; and the Department of Atmospheric Sciences), and will house offices as well state-of-the-art research labs and classrooms, and a spectacular SESE Student Commons. SESE and its departments will host two events in association with the reopening of the building. Read more here >>
