Education

  • M.S. in Atmospheric Sciences, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2012
  • B.S. in Marine Meteorology, Ocean University of China, 2011

My research involves with geophysical fluid dynamics and ocean-atmosphere interactions, with an emphasis on their roles in modulating tropical cyclone activity. Besides tropical cyclones, I also enjoy exploring the coupled atmosphere-ocean variability, the Hadley circulation and the tropical-extratropical interaction.
I work with various climate reanalysis products, satellite products and high-resolution model outputs. While working with high-volume data, I love to develop and test analyzing tools using NCL, Python and R. I also hold a strong interest in transferring theoretical knowledge to the interdisciplinary research and the real-world applications.
