About Me:

My name is Amanda Jones and I am a first year graduate student pursuing my masters degree in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am currently working with Dr. Nicole Riemer in the area of cloud physics and chemistry.

 

Research:

In my research, I will be using a cloud parcel model and the particle-resolved model PartMC-MOSAIC. I will be revising the cloud parcel model to include entrainment with trajectories from a 3D cloud simulation.

 

Education:

2012 B.S. with distinction Atmospheric Science from the University of Illinois

In progress M.S. in Atmospheric Science from the University of Illinois

 

Experience:

I am a teaching assistant for ATMS 100: Introduction to Meteorology. My responsibilities include preparing a weekly lecture, leading students through a computer lab, grading papers, and holding office hours. I previously have experience as an undergraduate with assisting ATMS 120: Severe and Hazardous Weather.
